“Phone Brainstorming” on what Mikel’s Promotional ad spot should be about started some weeks ago with my classmate, Ermina Kosmidi. After spending much time on the phone with no avail, we decided to individually think about it.
Soon after, we then decided to do something simple, right to the point, and with visual messages: to actually order a birthday cake, buy candles, and other birthday supplies such as balloons and whistles to actually celebrate Mikel’s birthday!
We then printed the logo we made in class with our professor’s guidance, took it to a photographer (who immediately printed it for us) and then ordered a cake from my neighborhood’s pastry shop—the funny part was that we were asked if we actually worked for Mikel as coincidentally, a new branch had just opened in the area. Our final stop was to pick up colorful balloons, whistles, party hats, a paper tablecloth, bright-colored candles, confetti, and fireworks.
One day later, our cake was ready! It was medium-sized with white frosting outside and chocolate Oreo cookie crumble filling inside. It was simply decorated and the Mikel picture logo was in the center.
Following this, we had to actually shoot the video. We decorated the balcony as there was more light there; but, it was so windy that it kept blowing out the candles! We ended up in the living room….
After many takes our video was complete. We just needed to edit the video, add music, and eat cake!
The whole experience was very interesting, fun, and tasty!
